Dear Friend:

Crime Stoppers of St. Thomas/Alymer is currently seeking people who would like to help our fundraising efforts by being a detainee at our upcoming Bail or Jail. This event will be held at Geerlinks Home Hardware on Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Friday, October 18, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

As a detainee, you will be asked to collect pledges prior to coming to jail to help bail you out. We will work with you to set up a convenient time slot for you to attend, and as we know that everyone is busy, we make it a point to not hold a detainee any longer than ½ hour once they appear before the ‘judge’. You will be assessed a fine for the ‘crime you have committed’ and you will be expected to spend some time in jail, hopefully collecting a few more pledges before you are released.

This is a fun event, and if you or someone else from your business is willing to help us out, we would welcome the opportunity to explain the event in more detail to you and answer any questions you may have. You can also arrange to have someone arrested and picked up to be a detainee. If you’re not able to participate as a detainee, you could help bail someone else out of jail by contributing a donation to be used by the detainees. We are also looking for sponsors for this event, and again, if you’re interested in sponsoring us, a separate sponsor sheet is attached for your consideration.
